Lake Las Vegas

We took a much needed family vacation this weekend and headed off to Lake Las Vegas.  It's a resort town on the North side of Henderson right by Lake Mead.  We stayed at this great resort that is the MOST kid friendly place I have ever been.  When we checked in they had toys for the kids as a welcome and when you went to dinner they brought out a toy for your kids to keep them occupied, my kind of place!!  As an added bonus we ran into some friends that live in Vegas and were just staying there on Friday night.  They have 3 kids and 2 of them are very close in age to Emma and Isaac so on Saturday there were plenty of playmates for the kids and the parents were able to catch up and have a great time.  We basically stayed at the pool and the kids soaked it in.  They had a little pool just for the kids that was a foot or so deep that we lived at!  Isaac also lived on the waterslide with his dad.  He could not get enough of the waterslide and neither could Emma.  Mom just watched from the bridge and took some photos!  On our last night there we finished dinner and then ran out to get the last hour of the pool but to Isaac's dismay the waterslide closed early that night because something broke.  He was not happy about that or the fact that they turned off the fountains that poured into the other kid pool that was 3 feet deep that both of our kids could touch in, added bonus for tall kids!!

Apparently this resort is also a celebrity destination!  We saw Kyle Whittingham, coach for the UofU football team, and Steve and Isaac went up and talked to him and I snuck a picture of him from across the pool.  Kyle even commented that we have a linebacker on our hands!  Maybe one day Isaac could play for him!  But the one celebrity that Steve saw twice and I never saw was Flavor Flav!  Steve saw him once not all "dressed up" and then he and Emma saw him with all the fixings - clock and pick included!!  Fun times!

And being that it is Lake Las Vegas there is a lake, man made, and the resort we were at had made their own little beach on the lake where you could play in the sad and in the water.  Again, another attraction that it was hard to tear the kids away from.  This morning when we left, very early to beat all the traffic from Vegas, Emma cried and cried because she didn't want to leave.  She wanted to live there!  Of course we will be going back as often as possible but next time mom is not going to be pregnant - it's too HOT!!

Click here for ALL, and I mean all, 178 photos!
(If you're looking for any photos of mom you not find any, for obvious reasons!!)
