We had a very busy 4th of July, we went from party to party! We started out at the church with a pancake breakfast and bike parade for the kids. Emma could hardly wait for the parade. They had decorations for the kids to put on their bikes and she and dad decked out her ride! Isaac didn't want to sit still to put anything on his, he would rather ride around wherever he wanted, even driving right into 3 young girls standing around talking! Way to go Isaac, not really how you want to be "hitting" on the ladies!! We did breakfast and the parade. Isaac made it around once with Steve and Emma would have gone around all day long, I think I counted 3 times but it might have been 4 times around the building.
When we got home there was a neighborhood gathering that of course the kids wanted to check out so we got the bikes out of the car and off they went down the street. We hung out for a little while with the neighbors but mom was getting too hot and tired to stand around outside anymore! By now it was time for lunch. We did lunch and Isaac went down for a nap. Emma and I went to the store to get a birthday present for her friend Hollee who was having a party at her house.
It came time to head to the Marine base to Hollee's house for the BBQ party, for grown-ups too. There was a very large bounce house for the kids and that's where Emma and Isaac spent the duration of the party. It wasn't one of those bounce houses that you just jump around like a trampoline, no, this was like something out of the show "Wipeout," it was an obstacle course. Once Isaac figured out how to climb the first wall it was all over for him. He must have gone around the course 20 times, and for being 2 he sure held his own with bigger kids! After some dinner and a broken pinata it was time to head home and go to bed! Both kids crashed and mom and dad love that!! The only fireworks that we saw on the 4th were the really cool ones on the television from New York along with the sound of the firework show just outside in the harbor in Dana Point!
We are so thankful that we live in a place that we can enjoy so many freedoms. We are also very mindful of the men and women who continue to protect those freedoms and sacrifice so much on our behalf. We love our military and we especially love our military friends!!

Hey you guys! It sounds like we missed an awesome 4th in the Southland! My whole family was here and we had fun with them too, it was nice and cool at least. Can't think of a better way to spend the 4th for a pregnant lady than with cool weather! We have to catch up soon, I'll try and give you a call some time this week
Whew! I am worn out just reading that. Glad you had a great 4th. I can't believe how big Isaac is getting. Crazy! Love and miss you tons.
Don't ya just love when you go go go with the kids all day so they will sleep sleep sleep?!?! Sounds like you had a great time! And like you, we also watched fireworks on TV. How dumb...
